Former Cree CEO named Marquette’s first innovator-in-residence

The former chief executive officer of Durham, North Carolina-based Cree Inc. has been named Marquette University’s first innovator-in-residence. The private school announced this week that Chuck Swoboda, a 1989 alumnus, is now filling the role. He spent almost 25 years at Cree (Nasdaq: CREE). Swoboda served as the chair of Marquette’s Board of Trustees from 2012 to 2014. He is now the president of Cape Point Advisors in North Carolina.
