Insurance regulators fine Moda Health for claims issues

The Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services dinged Moda Health Plan Inc. for incorrect processing of claims and ordered it to pay $200,000 in civil penalties. DCBS Director Cameron Smith suspended the collection of $100,000 of the penalties, so long as Moda complies with the terms and conditions of the order and other requirements, according to a cease and desist order filed Sept. 30.
