Less aircraft noise? State’s big three schools will study it

NASA has awarded a $750,000 research grant to Wichita State University, the University of Kansas and Kansas State University with the aim of reducing aircraft noise. WSU will lead the three-year effort with the other universities and industry partners Spirit AeroSystems, Honeywell Aerospace and ERG Materials and Aerospace Corp. The FAA has noise regulations which are aimed at reducing noise levels to residents. Those regulations can limit the locations of new airports and expansion of current runways. Bhisham…
