Report: Georgia ranks poorly but making strides in care for mothers, babies

Georgia continues to rank among the states with the highest rates of maternal mortality, low birth rate, preterm birth and infant mortality. The findings are part of a report released by Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Georgia. Amber Mack is a research and policy analyst for the group. She notes that black women have a much greater chance of dying as a result of pregnancy.
